Some more information
you may need to know.

  • For general care we recommend regular dusting with a dry cloth, and cleaning with plain water on a damp cloth. Always make sure to wipe dry after cleaning. If left, spills can penetrate into the timber and leave stains, even on finished timber. Do not use harsh detergents as these chemicals can damage the finish of the timber.

  • One of the great things about solid timber is that inevitable scratches, dents and stains can be repaired with light sanding, so you can always make your timber furniture feel new again. For more information on how to renew your timber product, please feel free to get in touch.

  • Your timber piece of furniture was once a living thing, hosting other living things, like bugs and insects. You will often see remnants of your timber's past life through gum veins, insect tunnels and knots in the grain. We use a grade of timber that has less of these natural characteristics, but small markings are often still present. This is totally normal and a part of the beauty of this natural product.

    When selecting our timber, we try to choose pieces with similar tones, however colours will vary slightly, as each tree is unique.

  • We love timber. It's an amazing natural product that changes with it's environment and ages with its surroundings. Timber expands and contracts with the weather and seasons, so you may need to occasionally adjust hinges or moving parts where applicable. Colour changes over time are normal, so your product will likely become more golden or darker in tone as it ages, particularly if exposed to a lot of sun — just like us!

Timber

  • We ship all items Australia-wide. For metro postcodes, delivery fees will be determined at checkout by your location as well as the size and weight of the product. For regional locations, please get in contact for a delivery quote. Certain parts of Australia can unfortunately be tricky and expensive to ship to, so we may need to quote additional delivery fees on orders that we consider to be remote.

  • For small(ish) items such as side tables and dining chairs, please see indicative delivery pricing below. Please note that additional items and large quantities may incur additional fees.

    • Melbourne / Geelong: $60–$120
    • Sydney: $60–$220
    • Adelaide / Brisbane / Canberra / Newcastle: $75–$250
    • Perth / Tas: $120–$300

    Please note smaller items such as vases will be $15-$20 Australia wide.

  • We work with a range of reputable third party delivery companies, so delivery timings will depend on the availability of the delivery company as per your location. We will communicate with you throughout the ordering and shipping process to ensure you are kept up to date with your order's arrival. The couriers we work with will require someone to be home for proof of delivery. You can request to have your item left at your door if you are not home, however we cannot be held liable for missing items in this instance.

    Although we cannot guarantee specific delivery dates, if you need your items by a critical date, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your timings.

    Unfortunately delays during shipping can occasionally happen and are out of our control. In the instance where there is a delay during transit, will we do our best to keep you informed of any updates to the best of our knowledge.

    Ka Ra Studio will not be held accountable for missing orders or order arrivals at the wrong location due to an incorrectly supplied delivery address.

    Please note that product availability is noted on the product page of the item. If you have ordered multiple items, we will dispatch when all items are available. If you would like items sent separately please contact us for an additional delivery quote.

  • Our products are packed for delivery in fully recyclable or bio-degradable materials such as bio-degradable bubble wrap, plant-based bio plastics, cardboard and paper.

Shipping

  • As our products are made to order especially for you, we can't accept returns for a change of mind, so please make sure you're absolutely sure before you buy!

    We take great care to quality check all items prior to delivery, however in the unlikely case that you receive the wrong item, or a faulty or damaged product, please let us know straight away. Please see our Warranty details for further information regarding faults and defects.

  • Ka Ra Studio products are designed and made with longevity in mind. If you do however find any manufacturing faults or defects, we offer a five year warranty from the date of order.

    This warranty guarantee does not cover:

    • Any breakage caused by negligent and/or improper use of the goods.
    • Changes caused by normal wear and tear, including dents and scratches.
    • Natural characteristics of the material used, such as timber grain markings, gum veins and knots.
    • Any damage caused by lack of maintenance.
    • Any damage due to an accident or force.
    • Degradation of finish caused by environmental factors such as sun, humidity, or water damage.
    • Bowing or separation of joints due to environmental factors such as humidity, heat exposure or water damage.

    Any surface abrasions/dents or damage will not be covered if they were not reported immediately upon arrival of your purchase (within 2 days of receiving the item/s). Please note images of the issue will be requested to move forward with a warranty claim. If any alterations are made to the product, your warranty will be voided.
